Problems in the UK education system: teachers are forced to feed the students
Every second a British teacher takes with him to school meals to feed students from the poorest families. Teachers are forced to do so due to the fact that the parents of some students do not have the money to feed their children. This problem has become urgent in recent years when the debt crisis led to a sharp drop in living standards of the British.
More than one million students participate British schools in the state program of free meals. However, the teachers believe the program is not enough effective, as to participate in this program, the child’s family must meet strict criteria.
Child’s health may deteriorate rapidly, even a brief period as a result of malnutrition or poor nutrition. A diet deficient in nutrients leads to a delay in development (including mental) as well as the fall of the body’s resistance to disease.
The British government should pay attention to the problem of malnutrition of school pupils, as this problem is a threat to national security in the long run. The introduction of an effective program of free meals to all primary school students, as well as for all students who need middle and high schools may be the answer to the malnutrition of children in one of the richest countries in the world.
Perhaps the government does not want to implement such a program because of its high cost.
